This map provides the following state-verified data about the timeline of implementation of college- and career-readiness standards (CCR) and aligned assessments in each state and the District of Columbia, highlighting the first year assessments were expected to be fully aligned to CCR standards in each state:
- Year CCR were adopted;
- Year the implementation of CCR started (by subject and grade);
- First year CCR were expected to be fully implemented across the state (by subject and grade);
- Year state started transitioning to grades 3-8 assessments aligned to CCR (by subject and grade);
- First year state assessments for grades 3-8 were expected to be fully aligned to CCR (by subject and grade); and
- Statewide assessment used for grades 3-8 in the 2015-2016 school year.
Note: Data related to state assessments focus on testing plans for grades 3-8, because not all high school grades are subject to statewide assessments.
These data were collected and verified between November 2015 and March 2016. Given that some state websites are outdated or lacking information, the C-SAIL longitudinal study team verified the data collected from state education agencies’ websites with SEA staff (e.g., Title I directors and curriculum and assessment directors) for all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
